Precious moments

A rather late post but here's to J documenting the final moments before our little one arrived on 15 December :)

Chilling at Pacific Place

Watching Star Wars before heading to the hospital in the evening.

Time to be wheeled down to the operating theatre. My arms/hands and lips couldn't stop shaking after they inserted the spinal anaesthesia. Just a big bundle of nerves although I look pretty chirpy here..

15 December 2017 @ 8:28am Magnus Zoren Lee arrived! Over the course of my pregnancy I struggled whether to do natural birth or c-section.. in the end the decision was easy to make as Magnus was in a flexed breech position.

:')

One of my fav photos (that I took)

View of Happy Valley from our room.

Back at home and time for a good swaddle.

First time at the paediatrician.

The early days when I was still breastfeeding. I've switched to pumping now but I might give BF another go in a few weeks.

Everyone who comes to visit us thinks M is really quiet but truth behold he's actually super duper loud. Mighty Magnus indeed :P

When he was just a tiny newborn baby. Already grown so much and can't wait to see him change and develop =)

embracing the unknown

I know everything will change once the baby arrives, I might worry over every little thing, plan for something that can't be planned for and just lose myself in all baby matters.. I just hope that after 3 months (of living under a rock), I'll still be up to date with the world and remain a relatively calm and collected human being..

Looking back at our photo shoot done at 36 weeks, it seemed like our pregnancy journey went by in a blur. In many ways I guess I could say that the past 9 months was pretty smooth although there were definite aches, pains and battle wounds here n' there. I was really lucky that I got away with morning sickness, just a bit of nauseousness whenever I ate cold oranges in the morning. I was able to squeeze in alot of prenatal yoga although I started cutting down after having inner thigh pain around 25 weeks. I thought I had symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) and went to see a physio a couple of times but then I learned that it was pretty common and that I should probably just get on with the program. :P And despite slathering loads of stretch mark oils and creams, the dreaded stretch marks still came in the final 2 weeks. I had a feeling I couldn't escape from my genes :T  So 40 inches and 2 cup sizes later, a small baby has almost finished baking. Excited and yet super calm at the same time because we have no idea what to expect..just that it's going to be super challenging and rewarding at the same time. :')

Green panorama

Normally we come to Aspen to ski during the winter season but this year we went during the summer. One full week of gorgeous weather and spending lots of time outdoors.

While we were there, we were able to see the partial solar eclipse! Such a cool experience as we felt the temperature drop by a good five to eight degrees (at least).

In town strolling around..

And of course stopping at my fav Paradise bakery getting some afternoon pick-me-ups. They always have a big plate of sweets to nibble over the counter :P

Sunshine and greenery makes me happy hehe

Taking the gondola up Ajax mountain.

Taking the bus to Maroon Bells and taking alot of beautiful scenic photos around Maroon Lake. Nice place to walk around, not too strenuous for pregger me at 23 weeks. Anything too steep I did have to take my time in order to catch my breath.

Another activity was walking to Pine Creek Cookhouse for lunch. Although the menu rarely changes which is a bummer, the route we take walking there is always the main highlight.

Getting some vitamin C and breathing in some crisp mountain air :P

Walking back we experienced some hail..always bring a fleece or warm jacket just in case,

Although I was advised not to go white water rafting by the family, I did manage to go fly fishing for the very first time hehe. Surprisingly fun probably because I actually caught something!

yay check it out!! :D

Catching and releasing my first rainbow trout.

Being the city slicker that I am who rarely goes to the local market to buy fresh fish or meat, I was scared to hold the fish at first. Priceless 'eeek' expression lol..

Nervous but very happy at the same time.

Aspen Art Museum

Craving alot more carbs than usual on this trip especially spaghetti bolognese or sharing some cacio e pepe.

Saying goodbye to this quaint town that we come to enjoy together over the past five years.. Don't know when I'll be back again in the summer but I sure want to try white water rafting.. It's always been on my bucket list of things to do. Until next time!
